Elanco K9 Advantix II Small Dog Topical Flea and Tick Treatment Under 4.5 kg is a monthly topical treatment formulated for small dogs and puppies over eight weeks of age. The formula helps kill and repel fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, biting flies, and lice while reducing the risk of reinfestation. It contains the active ingredients imidacloprid, permethrin, and pyriproxyfen, which target parasites at multiple life stages. The topical solution provides up to four weeks of protection when applied as directed.

Elanco K9 Advantix II Small Dog Once-A-Month Topical Flea and Tick Treatment - Under 4.5 kg

Elanco (formerly Bayer) K9 Advantix II Small Dog Once-A-Month Topical Flea and Tick Treatment - Under 4.5 kg is a veterinarian recommended treatment intended to kill parasites including fleas, ticks and mosquitos through contact (no biting required). This easy to apply topical treatment can be used monthly for year-round protection. Best suited to small dogs weighing under 4.5 kg, this treatment kills fleas, larva and eggs on contact.  It’s important to treat your dog for fleas and parasites because flea bites can cause allergy dermatitis. In addition, they can cause skin infections and other potentially serious health issues. Additionally, a single flea can lay up to 50 eggs per day leading to infestations in your home. Also, a single flea can lay up to 50 eggs per day leading to infestations in your home. In addition to biting and feeding on pets, ticks can transmit diseases like Lyme disease. Bites from infected mosquitoes can spread heartworm disease. This product can be used to break the flea life cycle and treat and control infestations in the home. 

Cautions

DO NOT administer by mouth. DON’T use on dogs under 8 weeks of age. DO NOT use on cats, kittens or any other animal. Cats that actively groom or engage in close physical contact with recently treated dogs may be at risk of serious harm, including death (See PRECAUTIONS). Consult a veterinarian before using on sick, aged, pregnant or nursing animals or animals under drug or other pesticide treatment. Active Ingredients: Imidacloprid 8.80%, Permethrin 44.00%, Pyriproxyfen 0.44%.

How to open:

  • Be sure tube is at bottom of pouch.
  • Using scissors, cut the pouch across the top and remove tube.
How to apply:
  • Use only on dogs.
  • Remove applicator tube from the package. Use scissors and peel down foil.
  • Hold applicator tube in an upright position. Pull cap off tube.
  • Turn the cap around and place other end of cap back on tube.
  • Twist cap to break seal, then remove cap from tube.
  • The dog should be standing for easy application. The entire contents of the K9 Advantix II tube should be applied evenly on the top of the back from the shoulder to the base of the tail. At each spot, part the hair until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the tube on the skin and gently squeeze to expel a portion of the solution on the skin. Do not apply an excessive amount of solution at any one spot that could cause some of the solution to run off the side of the dog.
  • Discard empty tube.
  • In cases of severe pest infestations, retreatment is allowable earlier than 4 weeks. Do not retreat more often than once every 7 days. After pest control is attained, return to a monthly retreatment schedule.
